DesignDC Offers Planners More Perspectives

DesignDC, the annual conference of the Washington, D.C., Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, offered sessions earlier this month on equitable development, housing affordability, and the consideration of women in urban design.

Long-Range Planning Section Supervisor, Scott Rowe, and Planner Coordinators John Wooden and Michael Zamore, represented the Prince George’s County Planning Department at DesignDC, where they also attended mobile tours of innovative projects within the region.

Long-Range Planning Section Supervisor Scott Rowe participated in a mobile tour of bicycle infrastructure in the NoMa section of Washington, D.C., including barrier-separated bike lanes and the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

 

Long-Range Planning Section Supervisor, Scott Rowe, and Planner Coordinator, Michael Zamore, learned about recycling 1960s-era buildings into modern Class-A office space with a guided tour of the Alexander Court project.
